William and Kate join their kids and fellow royals at Easter Sunday service as Queen misses out

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have now arrived at Windsor Castle for the Easter service, leading the other royals.

William and Kate were seen holding hands with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte on arrival as they stepped out in the spring sunshine for the event at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.

The Queen is not attending as she is suffering with mobility issues. Instead she will mark the event at the private chapel in Windsor.

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are also not attending the Easter Sunday service.

The annual service has not taken place since 2019 due to the Covid pandemic.

Kate and her daughter wore light blue outfits while William and his son dressed in a suit and tie for the formal occasion.

The Easter Sunday outing follows another rare public appearance last month for the Cambridge children.

The future king and his six-year-old sister joined their parents at the memorial service for Philip at Westminster Abbey.

Also the Earl and Countess of Wessex attended the Easter service with their children Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn.

Princess Eugenie walked alongside Peter Phillips and his children Savannah and Isla.

Zara and Mike Tindall brought their eldest daughter Mia.

It comes as the Queen, who turns 96 on Thursday, reached her Platinum Jubilee in February and overcame a bout of Covid after testing positive in the same month.

After spending a night in hospital last October, she spent the following three months under doctors’ orders to only conduct light duties and missed a number of prominent events.

The Queen had a visit from her grandson the Duke of Sussex and his wife the Duchess of Sussex in Windsor on Thursday.

Harry and Meghan had flown from their home in the US and stopped off in England where they enjoyed a sweet reunion with the Queen and Prince Charles.

They have since been spending time at The Hague in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games.

Harry and Meghan’s attendance at a reception at the games on Friday marked their first public appearance together in Europe since quitting as senior working royals more than two years ago.
