The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have hired a Leeds University graduate as their new PR chief.
Lee Thompson, who has competed on the world stage as a triathlete for Great Britain, has been lured away from his job as a high-flying executive at a top US TV network to work for the Royal Family. Lee, who is in his mid-30s helped boost CNBC's YouTube audience by 600 per cent, reports the Mail on Sunday.
His background also includes roles at the Association of Chief Police Officers and top PR firm Freuds. Lee's appointment comes after the Cambridges endured a backlash earlier this year for what was described as a 'tone deaf' tour of the Caribbean.

Despite the criticism, the couple remain arguably the two most popular members of the Royal Family, behind the Queen, and their children captured the hearts of the nation as they played a leading role during the Platinum Jubilee weekend. William was also cheered by crowds after delivering a speech during the Party at the Palace.
