A campaign by the Willesden & Brent Times to free a prisoner held at Guantanamo Bay has earned it an Amnesty International Media Awards commendation. The paper fought for the release of Jamil el-Banna, who lives in its circulation area in north London. Senior reporter Jenny Engstrom and editor Tim Cole were praised for their dogged determination.
