With the latest open beta for Diablo 4 now finished after another successful weekend of access, players want to know if there will be another Diablo 4 beta prior to launch.
The Diablo 4 beta weekends have been a rollicking success for Activision Blizzard, easily building up hype and anticipation amongst players on PlayStation, Xbox and PC who want to jump in and fight like hell with friends when the full game releases in June. But it’s the type of game that leaves you wanting for more – and three months is a long time to wait.
So will there be another Diablo 4 beta? We've got all the details for you right here.
Will there be another Diablo 4 beta?
Unfortunately, no. Activision Blizzard has been very clear about the Diablo 4 beta periods being betas in the traditional sense, in that they would only be available for a limited time. This is different to how certain other games like Warzone 2 and Fortnite have treated the term in the past. As such, there are currently no plans in place for there to be another Diablo 4 beta, closed or open. That is unless Activision Blizzard changes its mind in the near future.
Obviously, this will be disappointing to players who can’t wait to loot and fight their way through the underworld against all kinds of nightmarish monsters in Diablo 4. The game won’t officially release in its full version until June 6, 2023. That said, there is a way to get in slightly earlier if you pre-order.
How early can you play Diablo 4 if you pre-order?
If you can’t wait to play Diablo 4 at launch and want to get in as early as possible, you can pre-order the game on platforms like PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, which will allow you to play four days earlier than everybody else. That means players who pre-order Diablo 4 can jump in on June 2, 2023. That should be more than enough time to find the correct character class, scale them up, and hopefully avoid the same long queues that plagued the Diablo 3 beta periods and caused some player backlash.
Bear in mind that pre-ordering the standard edition of the game isn’t enough to get you four-day early access. This perk is exclusively available to players who want to pony up for either the Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of Diablo 4. For the extra bump in price, however, you get lots of other goodies such as the Temptation Mount, an accelerated unlock for the Premium Seasonal Battle Pass, and lots more cosmetic treats.
