Could the Washington Commanders be sold much sooner than you think?
Shortly after the news broke in early November that owner Daniel Snyder had hired Bank of America to explore potential transactions with the team, NFL insider Jay Glazer of FOX Sports briefly discussed the situation.
Glazer stated that Snyder was selling the entire team — and not a minority stake — and also that it would be expedited and completed in March.
“The other interesting part is the timeline,” Glazer said. “This is not going to be a long, drawn-out process. I’m told the hope is to have this done within the next six months and actually have it finalized by the NFL owner’s meetings next March.”
Those meetings Glazer reference begin on March 26. That’s a little over two months away. Could Washington’s sale happen even sooner?
JP Finlay hosts a daily weekday show on 106.7 The Fan in Washington with team legend Brian Mitchell. In addition, Finlay is also a team insider who has broken several Commanders’ stories in the past.
On Sunday, in response to the Front Office Sports report that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has yet to submit a formal bid for the Commanders, Finlay offered more clarity on the situation.
Finlay responded to A.J. Perez’s tweet by saying, “had heard the same.”
And here is where it gets interesting.
Finlay then offered confirmation on the Bezos’ story.
Not only was I told Bezos didn’t submit a bid, I’ve had people tell me the Snyder family has absolutely no interest in selling to Bezos.

That probably worried all Washington fans, who’ve coped with another disappointing season by reasoning that Snyder was selling the franchise they so loved.
Finlay delivered one more bit of news.
No Bezos doesn’t mean no sale. In fact I heard today from a source close to the situation that “it will be over soon”

“It will be over soon.” Music to the ears of Washington fans.
One more note, a fan asked Finlay which name we should keep an eye on.
Finlay responded, “Josh Harris.”
Harris. 58, has been linked to the Commanders once it was announced they could be for sale. A Chevy Chase, Md., native, Harris went to high school at the Field School in Washington, D.C. The successful businessman is the co-owner and managing partner of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and also owns NHL’s New Jersey Devils.
