What is the likelihood of the Boston Celtics engaging in extension talks with Derrick White after electing to make the Colorado native their starting point guard in the wake of trading away veteran floor general Marcus Smart in the trade that brought big man Kristaps Porzingis to the Celtics?
White has improved considerably as a player since joining Boston’s roster via trade from the San Antonio Spurs the season before last, going from what some short-sighted analysts called a disaster to saving the Celtics’ postseason (albeit for just one game) single-handedly. And having the University of Colorado alum locked up would go a long way to providing the sort of stability a contending team needs.
