Will Steven Gerrard raid Rangers? - Al-Ettifaq boss explains summer transfer plans

Steven Gerrard has remained coy around his potential transfer pursuit of two Rangers players.

Light Blues captain, James Tavernier, and centre-back, Connor Goldson, have been heavily linked with a switch to the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ettifaq.

And after Philippe Clement admitted that there could be a significant clear-out at Ibrox to help begin a fresh era following Rangers' Scottish Cup defeat to Celtic, speculation has intensified around the experienced duo's future.

Gerrard's side ended their campaign by losing 1-0 to Al-Taawoun, which ensured they finished a disappointing sixth-place in the league table.

Al-Ettifaq haven't been afraid to splash the cash in the past as the likes of Moussa Dembele, Gini Wijnaldum and Demarai Gray all making the switch to the Middle East.

During the aftermath of the final game of the season on Monday night, the Liverpool legend was asked about his summer transfer plans as he addressed the current squad at his disposal.

He said: "My team's players certainly have very great potential but everything is on the table.

"Now we are at the end of the season, we will put all the matters in order to discuss them with the club’s management, and all the files will be put in place and all talks will be on the table."
