Will Ravens OC Todd Monken allow rookie WR Devontez Walker more chances?

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Devontez Walker has passed the eye test through minimal reps this season. Walker’s electric touchdown catch versus the New York Giants in Week 16 ignited his teammates, but in spite, offensive coordinator Todd Monken has not favored his youth.

Contrary to popular belief, Walker might be the second-best wide receiver on the Ravens’ depth chart. His nimble build and height would greatly complement the play style of teammate Zay Flowers, who sometimes becomes the most apparent assignment for opposing defenses. Wide receiver Diontae Johnson was a bust, Rashod Bateman sometimes disappears, and Nelson Agholor has had the best days of his career come and go.

Walker was drafted to be a force, so allowing him to be an asset at this point in the season is counterproductive. Monken should allow Walker to get extended reps against the Cleveland Browns this weekend in the NFL season finale.

Just think, Walker might be a hidden gem the team can use to make their prolific offense even more effective in the NFL playoffs.
