People in Wales will have three bank holidays to look forward to in May, with the King's Coronation giving us an extra day off to celebrate. Bank holidays are a national public holiday and they are usually spread out across the calendar and includes seasonal events such as Christmas, Easter and the New Year.
In May, we will have an Early May Bank Holiday which falls on May 1, bank holiday for the coronation of King Charles III on May 8, and Spring Bank Holiday on May 29. The bank holiday is a busy time for a lot of people. Despite it being a public holiday, perhaps many of us will have plans to get together with family and friends in our homes, back garden or our street during the King's coronation.
With that in mind, perhaps our bins will be filling up quicker than usual. It's important to take note of when your rubbish and recycling bins are due to be collected over May's bank holidays. Most councils in Wales will be collecting waste as usual but some have changed their dates for when they plan to collect your waste.
