The Premier League title race took a big twist on Saturday as Manchester City saw their lead at the top of the table cut down.
A dramatic defeat at the Etihad to Tottenham, coupled with Liverpool’s win over Norwich, means the Reds are now six points behind Pep Guardiola’s side with a game in hand.
Having looked set to ease their way to yet another trophy, City’s quest for back-to-back titles now looks a lot more difficult than it did a few weeks ago.
And with Liverpool still to pay a visit to the Etihad in April, the race has plenty more potential twists and turns to come over the next few weeks.
We’ll find out more this week about just how close Jurgen Klopp’s side will be to City by that point, with the Reds hosting Leeds in that game in hand at Anfield on Wednesday.
With their hopes of a historic treble in the balance, City will perhaps be hoping for a few favours from some of their rivals before taking on Liverpool in order to make their task a little simpler.
But, given the two sides’ relentless natures, we look set for a title race that is set to go right down to the wire once again.
City will resume their charge away at Everton on Saturday, before they kick off March with a huge derby clash against Manchester United.
