With the NFL combine this weekend, teams, analysts and fans are all looking forward to watching the top draft prospects show off their talents. That is certainly the case for quarterbacks, as a good combine can cement a QB as a top 10 pick.
This year, there are four main quarterbacks teams are watching as potential first-rounders, and while quarterbacks don’t always choose to throw at the combine, three have decided to do so this year. Kentucky’s Will Levis, Ohio State’s CJ Stroud and Florida’s Anthony Richardson will throw on Saturday, while Alabama’s Bryce Young will wait for his Pro Day.
When asked why he chose to throw, Levis gave a very simple answer.
“Because I’ve got a cannon, and I’m gonna show it off,” he said.

Kentucky’s Levis is best known for his strong arm, so much so that on Friday, former No. 2 pick Ryan Leaf compared him to Josh Allen on Good Morning Football. Levis transferred to Kentucky from Penn State in 2021 and totaled 43 touchdowns and over 5,000 yards passing in two seasons as the Wildcats’ starter.
Levis is so confident in his arm, he said he has “the strongest arm of anyone in any draft class in recent memory.”
A strong combine could help Levis make his case as the top quarterback in the class, especially with Young passing on the throwing drills. Sports Illustrated’s Kevin Hanson has Levis ranked No. 13 overall and No. 3 among quarterbacks in his latest draft rankings..
