Will Levis became the betting favorite to be selected second in Thursday’s NFL draft over the weekend and thanks to a Reddit rumor, his odds of going No. 1 to the Panthers drastically increased.
Reddit user SaleAgreeable2834 referenced Levis’s long odds to be the first pick and wrote, “Well ladies and gentleman [sic], he’s telling friends and family Carolina will in fact take him on Thursday. You’re welcome.” The Kentucky quarterback’s odds to go No. 1 to the Panthers shortened from +4000 to +600 Tuesday morning at SI Sportsbook.
But on Wednesday, he addressed the viral Reddit post and appeared to throw cold water on the rumor.

“All I have to say is don’t believe everything you read on the internet,” Levis told reporters.
At the end of the 2022 season, Levis was a long shot at best to be taken in the top two, so the latest shift in betting odds is significant. Alabama’s Bryce Young, Ohio State’s CJ Stroud and Florida’s Anthony Richardson are the other signal-callers in the mix to get selected high in Thursday’s draft.
All will be revealed Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.
