The Internet can be a wild and dangerous place. Just ask Will Levis.
On Wednesday afternoon, during a NFL Play 60 event at Central High School in Kansas City, the University of Kentucky quarterback was asked about the now infamous (and erroneous) Reddit post—one that claimed he was told by the Carolina Panthers he’d be the draft’s No. 1 overall pick. Levis simply said the following:
“I’d say just don’t believe everything you read on the Internet.”

The football world—more specifically, the football betting world—was thrown for a whirl when a Reddit user named “Saleagreeable2834” wrote that Levis was telling friends and family of Carolina’s supposed draft intentions. Not too long after, sportsbooks took the post for a ride—as Levis rocketed into the second-best odds to be selected atop the board by the Panthers.
But, as expected, “Saleagreeable2834″—like Levis and even the favorite Bryce Young—isn’t privy to that type of information.
