Tonight, LeBron James will miss his second straight game due to a sprained ankle, as the Los Angeles Lakers will face the Utah Jazz on the road.
But when the Lakers return home tomorrow to play the New Orleans Pelicans, the four-time MVP may return to game action.
James suffered the injury on Sunday when L.A. was in Louisiana to face the Pelicans. It was a rough loss for the Lakers, as they got out to a huge lead, only to fall apart in the second half and allow the Pelicans to defeat them, 116-108.
Without him, L.A. got destroyed by the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, 128-110.
As Anthony Davis — out since Feb. 16 with a foot sprain — progresses toward a game-time decision vs. New Orleans on Friday, LeBron James is hopeful to test out his ankle sprain and try to make a return to the lineup too, sources tell ESPN.

Even better, Anthony Davis could also suit up for the first time since spraining his foot in mid-February.
Lakers star Anthony Davis plans to return Friday vs. the Pelicans, barring setback, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Davis has been sidelined since Feb. 14 due to mid-foot sprain. Big Lakers-Pelicans game with Play-In ramifications.

Friday’s contest versus the Pelicans will be huge for L.A., as it likely needs to win in order to have any chance of reaching the play-in tournament.
The Lakers come into Thursday’s game in Salt Lake City in 10th place in the Western Conference with just a half-game lead over the 11th-place San Antonio Spurs.
