With The White Lotus season three dropping tonight, fans are DYING to know if our kaftan queen Jennifer Coolidge will be returning.
Speaking to several cast members ahead of the upcoming season, Jason Isaacs and Patrick Schwarzenegger dropped several major bombshells about the show.
Isaacs, known for his roles in Harry Potter and The OA, confessed to bluffing his way into one of TV’s hottest series.
When asked about his initial thoughts on the show, Isaacs spilled the tea to PEDESTRIAN.TV. “I told Mike [White], when I first spoke to him, that it was maybe my favourite piece of television ever, and that he was a genius…. And I was lying,” admitted Isaacs.
“I’d never seen it, and I got the job, and then I watched it quickly, and I realised I was right.”
It’s giving major ‘I’ve totally read the book’ (read: I read the Spark Notes) energy, at school. But unlike your high school self (sorry to yell at you), Isaacs actually followed through and binged the series after landing the gig.
Meanwhile, his co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger (yes, of those Schwarzeneggers) was already a massive fan of the show before being cast.
“I’d seen both season one and season two. I was a huge fan of both of them, and I was over the moon to be have the ability to audition for this season and to be part of it,” he gushed.
When it came to picking his favourite moments, Patrick obviously had to go with shouting out the queen Tanya herself.
“Jennifer Coolidge was always iconic and just a blast to watch.”
When PEDESTRIAN.TV asked whether Patrick was bummed that Coolidge wasn’t coming back this season, he coyly responded: “She might be coming back, who knows.” Ghost Tanya let’s gooo!!
So, what can we expect from this new season of rich people behaving badly in paradise? According to Isaacs, it’s going to be a whole new ballgame.
“It’s bigger, but it’s richer and deeper and more profound. It deals with questions as well as sex, drugs and rock and roll and tofu and all the rest of it. It deals with really powerful, existential questions about who we are, what we are,” he said.
Existential questions and tofu? Oh this is going to be iconic.
“That’s why it’s set in Thailand, because of the Buddhism and spiritual aspect and the rich people cherry picking the bits of spirituality that they like and can buy.”
With more cast members, more locations, and even an extra episode, it sounds like season three is set to be a wild ride. Just remember, what happens in Thailand, stays in Thailand. Unless, of course, it ends up on Binge, premiering on January 17 at 8:30pm (AEST). We are so back!!
