All-NBA Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown signed a supermax contract extension that will keep him with the Celtics through the end of the 2027-28 NBA season on paper, with no team or player option allowing the Georgia native to reach free agency earlier than that offseason.
In the modern NBA though, that rarely guarantees a player stays with his team for that long, especially under the league’s new and punitive collective bargaining agreement. Brown could eventually ask out of Boston, or the Celtics could trade Brown to address an increasingly expensive roster.
Will that happen, or will the former Cal standout retire wearing the green and white?
CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning and John Zannis debated all of this on last week’s “Garden Report” podcast in the clip we have embedded above for you to listen to and decide for yourself whether Brown sticks around.
