Will Fish in confident Hibs third spot claim as he reveals 'behind the scenes' work to challenge Hearts

Hibs star Will Fish says there is no reason why they cannot finish in third at the end of the season.

Lee Johnson's men are back in some vein of form after completing three games unbeaten in league action with a 6-0 hammering of Aberdeen spelling the end for Dons boss Jim Goodwin. It was a rout in Leith that saw Fish grab his first goal at Easter Road as the defender prepares for a starring role with the departure of Ryan Porteous and an injury to Rocky Bushiri.

The Manchester United loanee believes despite being nine points worse off than rivals Hearts and two points behind David Martindale's Livingston that Hibs have 'every chance' of finishing in the top three.

He said: "I think it is just about confidence. 6-0 and a clean sheet will help, and Josh got a hat-trick. It’s a big stepping stone for us, we can’t get carried away, but we need to build on it. It could turn over a page in our season.

"Saturday could be a turning point in our season. We want to get that third or fourth spot. And I think we’ve got every chance now of doing it.

"That’s what Hibs is all about, isn’t it? It’s a massive club and there is a lot of character in the dressing room. Today we showed that and, like I said, hopefully it is a stepping stone for our season. People don’t know what goes on behind the scenes, but there is quite a lot of experience and leaders in that dressing room. That’s what we see.”
