Will Ferrell in Edinburgh - Filming Grassmarket and Victoria Street until weekend

Film production for the new Eurovision film starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams is taking place in the Grassmarket and Victoria Street on Wednesday.

The stars have been spotted around the city recently as they play Icelandic musicians taking part in the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest.

On Tuesday afternoon they were on Segways, and earlier they were spotted on Arthur's Seat.  A set for the film is also in Princes Street Gardens near the Ross Fountain.

Traffic may be held on the Grassmarket on Wednesday and Thursday to allow scenes to be shot.

Victoria Street will be closed on Thursday night into Friday morning and the production crew are expected to remain there until Saturday.

Road closures for filming will also be taking place on the Royal Mile, George IV Bridge and Cockburn Street in the coming days.

Lindsay Road in Leith will also have parking suspensions from Thursday.

Other stars appearing in the Netflix feature include Pierce Brosnan, who plays Will's father Lars who is  the "most handsome man in Iceland."

Demi Lovato and Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens have also been confirmed for roles in the film.

Will is known to be a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest since his Swedish wife introduced him to it. He has been in the audience for the show in the past.
