Will EU fines against Apple and Meta aggravate US trade tensions? | Radio Schuman

This week, the European Commission imposed fines on US digital giants Meta and Apple in the midst of a trade war with the US.

The anticipated penalties are the first to be issued under the bloc’s Digital Markets Act. However, the Trump administration has criticised the decision, arguing it represents unfair targeting of American companies.

So, how will these fines impact escalating tensions between the EU and US? And what is the EU's tactic? We delve into the matter with Euronews’ trade and competition expert Peggy Corlin.

We also look at how bird flu has caused egg prices to skyrocket. But prices have not risen uniformly across the continent. Where has the product become most expensive?

Today's Radio Schuman is hosted and produced by Lauren Walker, with journalist Maia de la Baume. Audio editing is by David Brodheim. Music by Alexandre Jas.
