This week the Pittsburgh Steelers will have two of their three-headed running back unit. Najee Harris continues to play well and Jaylen Warren is working himself back into the mix but the Steelers aren’t going to have Cordarrelle Patterson this week against the New York Giants.
Cordarrelle Patterson
Patterson suffered an ankle injury in Week Four against the Indianapolis Colts. Patterson was called into a heavier workload when Warren was injured and he added some significant explosion and energy to the rushing attack.
How long will Patterson be out?
Patterson has missed the last three games and will miss one more heading into the bye week. We are hopeful with an extra week off, Patterson will be back on the field when the Steelers take on the Washington Commanders in Week 10.
Running back depth chart
With Patterson out, here’s what the running back depth chart looks like.
Najee Harris
Jaylen Warren
Aaron Shampklin
Big picture, the absence of Patterson won’t have a huge outcome on the game assuming Harris and Warren stay healthy. Nevertheless, for a team that sometimes needs an injection of energy and intensity, Patterson will be missed.
