Ben Doak has emerged as a standout player for Scotland, showcasing his talent during the recent UEFA Nations League matches against Poland and Croatia.
The former Celtic kid made a significant impact by assisting John McGinn in Scotland's 2-1 victory over Poland. Throughout his six senior international appearances, Doak has consistently posed a threat to opposition defences.
Scotland manager Steve Clarke is eager to have the Liverpool winger available for the crucial Nations League Section A play-off double-header against Greece in March.
Currently on a season-long loan at Middlesbrough, Doak was in excellent form for the English Championship outfit prior to suffering a thigh injury at the end of January.
He has recorded three goals and seven assists from 24 outings, but Middlesbrough has struggled without him, failing to win any of the three league matches since his injury.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Middlesbrough head coach Michael Carrick addressed Doak's fitness, indicating that the 19-year-old is "closer" to a return but still sidelined amid reports that he may not play again until early March.
