Wilfried Zaha's true transfer value revealed as Todd Boehly and Chelsea eye 'cut-price' deal

Wilfried Zaha to Chelsea? It could be a monetary risk worth taking for new owner Todd Boehly as the Blues still ponder their attacking options.

With Timo Werner's RB Leipzig transfer exit fast approaching coupled with Hakim Ziyech looking to move on before September 1 amid previous AC Milan interest, Chelsea have been put into a situation where they need more than just Raheem Sterling in terms of attacking transfers this summer. This was demonstrated at the weekend in their opening Premier League with Jorginho's penalty covering the attacking frailties once more as Thomas Tuchel's side escaped Goodison Park with a rare 1-0 victory.

"In general, it was maybe not the most exciting Premier League game in the history of the Premier League," Tuchel evaluated in his post-match press conference when asked about the attacking display. "Seven minutes of extra time in the first half, ten minutes in the second half tell the story. There were a lot of interruptions, no team could find a rhythm.

"Everton defended deep in the first half and we struggled with switching the play, we struggled to feel the moments to change speed. It seemed like we did not want to do a decisive mistake so we did not take the risk that is needed in the final 25 metres to open a space up.

"But in general it was ok. Second half we did not have enough movement on the ball and that created a lot of ball losses from which we suffered and the game was stuck in between the halves. It wasn't in our half or their half. So in the first away match, you hang in and do what you need to keep a clean sheet and get the win."

Who could join Sterling in trying to reinvigorate an attack that just isn't scoring enough goals in the present?

Amid links to the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Cristiano Ronaldo and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, another name has entered the fray in the form of a certain Premier League regular.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are being encouraged to make a move for Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha with the player himself 'keen' on making the cross-city switch to West London in the knowledge that this could be his final chance in his peak to grab a chance at playing in the Champions League.

While manager Patrick Vieira is confident of keeping hold of his star player who featured against Arsenal in the opening night loss at Selhurst Park, a reasonable offer could alter the Eagles' stance with this their last reasonable opportunity to get a fee for the attacker, unless a new contract is agreed.

According to the CIES Football Observatory, the Palace winger is valued at up to £13million considering his contract status, which could prove to be a bargain buy for new owner Todd Boehly. More realistically, with the timing of this potential deal and Palace's reliance on Zaha, transfermarkt suggest that Vieira's side have the right to demand up to £34million if they were to let the Ivory Coast international move on to his next adventure.
