Wilfried Gnonto believes Leeds United still have 'a lot to work on' to be ready for the resumption of the Premier League against Manchester City. The Whites played their first game in just under a month as they defeated bottom of the table La Liga side Elche 2-1 in Spain.
Jesse Marsch's side were without several first team players for the match and it was fairly apparent throughout as Leeds struggled to ever really take control of the game. Many of the same flaws from prior to the World Cup break emerged during the 90 minutes, including their struggle to build attacks from the back, and the space they provide the opposition out wide.
They did, however, show good character to come from a goal behind and win the game thanks to a well worked Joe Gelhardt goal, and a superb Mateusz Klich winner. Speaking to LUTV after the match, Gnonto claimed that while Leeds were pleased with the win, improvements are needed in the coming weeks.

He said: “Of course it was a difficult game, we just tried to do our best and we are happy with the win. It has been really hard, but really funny also I can say. It was my first time with the team so I am just really happy. I think we worked really hard and tried to improve.
“We have two or three weeks until the first game so we just try to improve a lot, we know we have a lot to work on and we will try to do it to be ready for the first game.”
