A SPORTS centre is set to reopen after a wildfire broke out near the facility in Edinburgh.
The fire was seen on the hill near Midlothian Snowsports Centre Hillend on Biggar Road in the capital on Tuesday morning.
The gorse fire forced the team to delay their opening.
"The fire is now under control and we aim to reopen the centre, including the Alpine Coaster from 2pm.
"Thank you for your understanding with the situation we have experienced.
"Due to our Fire Service colleagues tackling a gorse fire very close to the coaster, there will be a delay in opening today.
"We will keep you updated as we aim to try and open later today."
The statement added: "Please note this is NOT an April Fool joke. Apologies for any inconvenience."
