The LA mansion of a social media star who refers to himself as the 'King of Instagram' was the location of a deadly shooting on Wednesday night - and neighbors aren't surprised.
Iranian-born businessman and nightclub owner, Tony Toutouni, 52, often shares clips and photos online that depict him racing his high-end cars through Hollywood Hills and throwing lavish parties that his famous neighbors have complained about in the past.
On Wednesday night, however, a fun poker night at Mr Toutouni's rented home in Hollywood Hills West ended in a nightmare when two players got into a heated altercation outside of his mansion.
The disagreement resulted in one of the participants — 39-year-old Emil Lahaziel — getting fatally gunned down in the driveway, after 2am police say.
Mr Toutouni has not been accused of any wrongdoing. Police are currently searching for another, unidentified person who is suspected of the killing, and Mr Toutouni is fully cooperating with authorities, reports indicate.
The businessman and nightclub owner has become a notorious figure in his own neighborhood, to the bewilderment of his neighbors. Actor Adam Devine and his wife were both witnesses to the shooting on Wednesday.
Mr Toutouni, who's birth name is Farzad, has bragged about his extremely expensive poker games before - he recently boasted about having won $350,000 in crypto on his birthday.
“I play a lot of poker and I spend most of my night at the table in my house with other players, normally there is anywhere between £16,000 ($20,000) to £40,000 ($50,000) each hand,” the social media star explained to reporters.
Wednesday night's poker game was no different, with Mr DeVine confirming on a podcast, that he and his wife sometimes entertain themselves by watching Toutouni's friends pull up to the home for these parties.
"So across the street they were running this like crazy poker game, right?” DeVine said, at the taping of a 'This is Important' podcast.
“People were rolling up in like Lamborghinis and Bentleys and Rolls-Royces and s**t and like old guys...” DeVine said on the podcast. “And I see these dudes and it’s like fun to sit and watch, [so] me and my wife, we’re sitting up on our balcony, and like, this looks crazy.”
But then Mr DeVine's story took a dark turn when he explained that he watched Mr Lahaziel die from multiple gunshot wounds.
Mr Toutouni has not yet responded or posted amid the controversy. He currently has 1.5m followers.
His bio states that he's "hated by women" for his "honesty" and many of his podcasts feature wildly sexist topics like, "why women should pursue a real career" and "if you're a woman you better have more than a vagina to offer."
At the same time, his photos show him surrounded by women in bikinis and lingerie while he flashes stacks of cash.
