A Malaysian woman spent six years caring for her husband after he was paralyzed in a car accident, only for him to divorce her and marry someone else once he recovered.

Nurul Syazwani reportedly married her husband in 2016. The couple had a son together, and had been in a long-distance marriage for two years when her husband got into a car accident that left him needing round-the-clock care, as reported by Sin Chew Daily.

After taking over as his primary caregiver for about a year, Syazwani began posting about what her life was like to Facebook. As she made posts about the tasks she had to do daily, such as feeding her husband through a nasogastric tube and changing his diapers, she amassed more than 32,000 followers.

Last week, Syazwani's followers were shocked to learn that her husband had married another woman after Syazwani shared one of their wedding photos in a now-deleted post with the caption, "Congratulations to my 'husband.' I hope you are happy with the one you chose. Aifa Aizam, please take good care of him like I did. I am done with him; now it is your turn to take over."

Syazwani shared in another post that she and her husband had divorced Oct. 6 after "fulfilling their responsibilities as a married couple." She added that she and her ex-husband plan to co-parent their son, and that "Everything happens for a reason."

The ex-husband and his new wife reportedly got married a week after his divorce from Syazwani was finalized, as reported by Sin Chew Daily.
