Wife killer Joe O'Reilly moved from Wheatfield to the Midlands prison after 'falling out' with other prisoners

Wife killer Joe O'Reilly was moved to another prison last night following a falling out with other prisoners.

The Irish Mirror has learned that O'Reilly (50), who battered his wife Rachel to death in 2004, was moved from Dublin's Wheatfield Prison to the Midlands Prison late last night.

The move comes after a falling out between O'Reilly and other inmates in Wheatfield Prison, sources say.

The infamous killer, who is serving a life sentence for the killing of his wife at their home in Naul in October 2004, is now housed in the same prison as sex-crazed monster Graham Dwyer.

The revelation comes after this paper previously revealed that Dwyer and O’Reilly once shared a holding cell years ago - and O’Reilly told pals that he thought Dwyer was “a gobsh*te.”

O'Reilly's move comes almost 15 years into his prison sentence.

Sources say the killer is no closer to freedom and he has also given up his hopes of a move to an open prison this year.

Earlier this year tragic Rachel’s mother Rose said if O’Reilly was granted his wish to move to an open prison “it would finish me.”

“I wouldn’t rest if I thought he would get it. It would really make a fierce difference and you know we are in a later stage of life now and it hasn’t gotten any better for us, in fact it’s gotten worse.

“These days I feel as if I’m hanging on by a thread, and if he got that, (move to an open prison), I feel it would finish me,” Rose said.
