Wife died in bed in husband's arms after watching Glastonbury festival

A woman with an 'infectious smile' and 'great sense of humour' died in bed while on holiday.

Julie-Anne Forkasiewicz watched Glastonbury festival on television in bed with her husband until they fell asleep. In the early hours of the morning she then woke her husband, Peter Forkasiewicz, complaining she felt really hot, despite her body being cold.

She progressively began to burn up and her breathing got more shallow so Peter rang an ambulance and he performed 15 minutes of CPR, Lancs Live reports. An ambulance arrived at 4.30am and at 5.20am she was sadly pronounced dead.

The 53-year-old, from Accrington, had type two diabetes which had an impact on her health and she was progressively getting more poorly over the last five years, however, the cause of her death has yet to be determined. On the day before her death, Peter said she was well enough to travel but had felt unwell and decided to go up the hotel room for a nap early.

Describing his wife of 29 years, Peter said: "She’d be the first to break the ice in a room full of people and she had such an infectious smile and a great sense of humour. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for me and it was never too much trouble."
