The widow of a murdered community leader has been shot dead by gunmen at his wake.
The victim, named as Rosalba Carmenza Tarazona Ortega, was shot dead in Saravena, Arauca, eastern Colombia, on Wednesday at about 2pm after they stormed her mother-in-law's house.
She was attending the wake of her late husband, Colombian social leader Alvaro Pena, who was murdered just the day before.
Other terrified guests fled the building after the criminals opened fire before the gunmen fled the mother-in-law's home.
Authorities have not yet announced any arrests.
Rosalba was shot dead just one day after her husband was also killed.
Alvaro was understood to be a community leader and the President of the Community Action Board of the La Union neighbourhood in Saravena.
Reports say he was shot dead on Tuesday when armed gunmen stormed his home in Tame, Arauca.
It is currently unclear if the gunmen who killed him also killed his widow.
Colonel Fredy Perez, the head of the Arauca Police Department, confirmed that the victim was shot dead at about 2pm on Wednesday.
He did not provide any further information regarding the investigation.
The police investigations into the two murders are currently ongoing.
