The Wicklow Fire Service is dealing with a major blaze in a popular hiking and forest area.
The fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning at Crone Woods, with crews from Bray and Greystones racing to the scene.
A helicopter is believed to be en route to the scene of the blaze, which is still ongoing at time of writing.
A video of the scene, posted to Twitter by UCD Professor and climate activist Dr Cara Augustenborg, highlights the damage that's being done.
Crone Woods acts as a starting point for a number of popular hikes around the Wicklow Way.
The route from Crone will guide you up to the viewpoint at Ride Rock from where there are stunning views over the Powersourt Waterfall.
It's also a way to access the Sugar Loaf.
Yesterday, Ireland recorded it's hottest day in over a century and a half, with temperatures reaching a boiling 33C as the hot spell that has swept across Europe continued.
The Phoenix Park weather station recorded the record temperature, while a number of other stations based around the country also topped 30C.
There are similar records being broken in the UK, with London burning in temperatures of 40C.
On the continent, a number of dangerous wildfires and forest fires have broken out, particularly in Spain and France.
In Ireland, there is set to be some relief on Tuesday as a thunderstorm warning is in effect from Met Eireann.
The alert was issued by the national forecaster on Tuesday morning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
It's in place from 9.30a.m to 9pm this evening and reads: "Thunderstorm activity today for southern and eastern areas with localised heavy rainfall which may cause some localised flooding."
That's on top of the status yellow high temperature warning for the eastern half of the country, with Leinster counties being advised to be careful in the heat.
