Fire crews from Greystones and Bray raced to the scene, where they thankfully managed to minimise the damage by keeping the fire controlled in an annex of the house.
The annex has been badly damaged after the fire raged for two hours, but the main house was unharmed.
A Wicklow Fire Brigasde spokesman said: "The initial alert was at 7.51 pm. The person reporting the fire said that there was a fire in an annex to Kindelstown House and there was a danger of it spreading to the main house.
"Fire Crews from Greystones and Bray were mobilised to the incident.
"The crews contained the fire to the annex and extinguished. The annex was badly damaged but the main house was unharmed.
"Crews were on scene for two hours to ensure the fire did not re-ignite. Gardai were informed and responded to the scene."
