Wicked is returning to Liverpool’s Empire Theatre in 2024.
The award-winning stage musical will spend four weeks in the city as part of a major UK and Ireland tour. One of the best-selling productions in the Empire’s history, Wicked sold nearly 140,000 tickets across its two previous visits in 2014 and 2018.
The record-breaking West End and Broadway musical phenomenon tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz. Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked imagines a backstory and future possibilities to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz - and reveals the decisions and events that shape the destinies of two unlikely university friends on their journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
