Why Was Boise State QB Hank Bachmeier Not Nominated For All-Conference Awards?
Bachmeier not on all-conference ballot

There is a standing tradition at Boise State
Mountain West media days are fast approaching and that includes handing out awards for all-conference players. The conference does just a first-team in the preseason but two for the postseason.
Teams get to nominate who they like and it was a bit of a surprise when B.J. Rains of Bronco Nation News reported that Boise State quarterback Hank Bachmeier was not nominated.
The four quarterbacks put forward were Air Force’s Haaziq Daniels, Colorado State’s Clay Millen, Utah State’s Logan Bonner, and Fresno State’s Jake Haener.
Confirmed with Boise State that the policy has always been to only nominate players who received postseason accolades the previous season (honorable mention, first team, second team All-MW), so that’s why Bachmeier wasn’t on the ballot.
The conspiracy theorists can step down. https://t.co/OHirHwQObK

With there being just a single quarterback taken, Bachmeier was likely not going to be on the list. In other publications such as our very own all-conference teams, Bachmeier made the third-team.
The reasoning behind this is odd and not all that great in helping promote your program. Boise State apparently won’t nominate a player unless they earned postseason consideration, including honorable mention.
The odds of Bachmeier making the first-team is slim but also what is the harm in not nomiating the face of your program who has started as a true freshman.
