Why tram passengers can no longer top up Mango cards in Nottingham

Tram passengers in Nottingham are no longer able to top up their Mango pay-as-you-go cards.

Signs have been put up on the NET ticket machines saying customers can no longer top their cards up.

The change comes as trentbarton made alterations to its ticket machines which means from Sunday December 29, customers won’t be able to use the Mango card on NET trams.

Trentbarton, which operates the Mango card system, recommends card holders run down any existing balance on their card in plenty of time before the December cut-off date.

Passengers using Mango cards for NET tram journeys can switch to a pay-as-you-go Robin Hood card to receive similar discounts.

The Robin Hood card can be used on NET tram, trentbarton, NCT and other operators within the city.

And passengers will still be able to use Mango cards as normal on all trentbarton buses past December 29.
