A SEASIDE town in Scotland has been named one of the most "charming" in the whole of the UK by the prestigious travel publication Lonely Planet.
Tobermory on the Isle of Mull was named alongside coastal locations across Britain, including Salcombe in Devon and Whitby in North Yorkshire.
Introducing the new ranking, the publication said that while Britain "doesn’t bask under the same sunny rays as its southern European counterparts," it is still home to a number of seaside towns boasting "sublime" seafood and "spectacular" scenery.

The Scottish seaside town is also home to a number of boat tours that allow visitors to go on "pretty jaunts" around the bay.
However, expeditions from Sea Life Mull take guests further afield to spots where they can catch a glimpse of minke whales, basking sharks and bottlenose dolphins.
For those looking to stick to land, there are also a great many walks on offer, including the one to Rubha nan Gall Lighthouse.
Here, ramblers will be treated to a two-hour trail that takes in dozens of "splendid" views.
To the south of Tobermory are the Baliscate Standing Stones, which are thought to date back to the Neolithic era.
