Why these brand new restaurants in Scotland have been named the best in the UK

THREE brand new restaurants in Scotland have been named among the best in the whole of the UK by the prestigious travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller.

These eateries were named alongside places across the country, including the Albatross Death Cult in Birmingham and the Ambassadors Clubhouse in London.

If you're on the lookout for some new restaurants to check out in two of Scotland's largest cities, here are a few suggestions.

Fallachan Kitchen - Finnieston, Glasgow

This "first of its kind" Glasgow restaurant is said to offer "communal fine dining from the industrial surroundings of a candlelit railway arch."

Thanks to the six staff members on hand to cater to the (at most) 12 diners, a meal here feels "luxuriously intimate".

Chef Craig Grozier apparently demonstrates a "keen talent" for turning things on their head, presenting culinary surprises like a langoustine cocktail (a spicy shellfish drink in a coupe).

The menu here changes regularly, meaning guests are likely to be treated to at least a few new flavours.

The location is also popular on Tripadvisor where visitors gave it a 5/5 rating.

One person said: "Even at the pinnacle of fine dining, food this interesting, creative, characterful and downright delicious is incredibly rare."

Nàdair - Marchmont, Edinburgh

Nàdair is said to be "more relaxed than your standard tasting menu" thanks to the range of foraged finds making up much of the offering.

It is because of this "staunch seasonal lean" that patrons are invited to enjoy the exact time they are dining in.

Here, visitors might find seabuckthorn in their pre-dinner cocktail as well as a dessert or maybe honeyberries in their sweet and savoury guises.

Whenever someone comes to this Scottish establishment,  they're sure to find "delightful" dishes with" surprising elements".

On top of this is the "laidback neighbourhood vibe" of the eatery which helps to make it something truly special.

Outlier - East End, Glasgow

Outlier apparently made a "clever" entry into the city's restaurant scene by first establishing itself as one of Glasgow’s most popular bakeries.

Now, the eatery, which once solely dealt with cappuccinos and croissants, has "evolved" into a "restaurant with real heart."

Like the other restaurants on the list, the menu here changes seasonally. "Stand-out" favourites include oysters, Southern-style fried chicken with gravy and greens, and steak with duck fat spuds.
