The Boston Celtics’ three-team trade for Kristaps Porzingis has generated mixed reactions among fans of the Celtics. The Washington Wizards traded Porzingis to avoid losing him for nothing in free agency and received expiring contracts and draft picks in return.
The Grizzlies were pleased with the trade as they acquired Marcus Smart to bolster their defense and run the point while Ja Morant serves out his 25-game suspension. Boston fans are upset about losing Smart but many believe Porzingis can improve their frontcourt depth. Porzingis’ post-passing abilities and offensive versatility are valuable additions to the Celtics’ roster.
However, concerns about Porzingis’ health and Boston’s need for further roster improvements remain.
