Star power drives the NBA. It’s just a fact. We’ve seen it over and over and over again.
If you don’t have a couple of top-7 or so-ish player on your team, there’s absolutely no way you’re going to make it to the NBA Finals, let alone win a championship. You may not even make it to the Conference Finals without one.
So, naturally, when a chance comes to nab one of those starts that you think could potentially even be close to that level, you have to do it.
The 76ers think they have a shot at getting themselves another one in James Harden. The Nets and the Sixers are reportedly both willing to engage in trade talks centering around Harden and Ben Simmons, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The deal would send Harden to Philadelphia where he’d reunite with Daryl Morey and get to play with a star in Joel Embiid. It all sounds fantastic on paper.
But, if we’re being completely honest here? This might not be the greatest idea.
Let’s talk about it.
