Hollyoaks' Sarah Jayne Dunn chose OnlyFans over Hollyoaks and her husband backs her decision

Soap star Sarah Jayne Dunn quit Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks to continue posting revealing pictures on the adult-only website OnlyFans.

Appearing on Loose Women, Sarah and her husband, Jonathan Smith, spoke about why she chose to continue posting revealing and sexy pictures on the adult-only website rather than stay in the high-profiel Channel 4 soap.

Sarah has starred as Mandy Richardson on and off in the soap since 1996 and has often appeared in sexy photo shoots throughout her career, including the Hollyoaks official babes calendar where she posed in her underwear with her female co-stars.

Once finding out that Sarah was on OnlyFans when she joined the website in lockdown, Hollyoaks said that she would have to stop posting on the website or leave the show, crediting their younger viewers as the reason.

Sarah chose to leave the soap and stay on OnlyFans, citing the financial benefits and being in control of what she posted as one of the reasons.

Speaking about financial worries during the lockdown, she said: "The uncertainty of knowing what was going to happen after, if I'd have a job to go back to, what the situation was and financially it was difficult."

She added: "I needed something else that I can be in control of, that can still be creative, that I can enjoy, that I can do in my own time, that I can do alongside my job."

Comparing OnlyFans to previous revealing photoshoots, like for For Him magazine, Sarah says it is different as she is in control of what she posts and how the photos look.

She said: "It's different because I'm getting to choose who I am working with, what I am wearing, I get to make sure my pictures aren't photoshopped."

Sarah says this new way of making money is empowering as she is doing it for herself and her husband is very supportive of her new career move.

He said there was no change for him as Sarah did revealing photoshoots before joining OnlyFans, he said: "Not a lot has changed me for me from photos that you used to do and photos that are now shared on the platform are no different so obviously I don't see any problem with me supporting her, particularly as it gives her more control."

Sarah said she is also fully supported by her family, including her mum and brothers, and said she's not stopped acting and is still auditioning for roles.
