Heading into the 2022 NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens were looking to reestablish the league’s most dominant running game with their talented group of ball-carriers. They did just that with the selection of Iowa offensive lineman Tyler Linderbaum with the No. 25 overall pick in the first round.
Linderbaum is a uniquely athletic center who excelled when pulling and making move blocks, with excellent natural leverage to fit outside or pull back inside. His quickness off the snap ensured he didn’t give up pressures on his quarterback, as he allowed one of the lowest pressure rates of any lineman in this class. His wrestling background and general athleticism will allow him to quickly translate to the NFL, and help anchor the Ravens’ fearsome ground attack.
Linderbaum should start right away at center following the loss of Bradley Bozeman in free agency, and his combination of physical and mental tools will allow him to make an immediate impact at a key position in the Ravens offense.
