Why play was suspended between Leeds United and Arsenal following Elland Road power cut

Leeds United and Arsenal saw their fixture temporarily suspended following a power cut at Elland Road. The power cut struck just on kick-off in West Yorkshire, with the big screen and stadium Wi-Fi momentarily going down.

However, it caused a problem with the match officials' technology and with just a couple of minutes on the clock, referee Chris Kavanagh brought a halt to the contest. A lengthy delay followed as players tried to keep themselves warm in front of a sell out crowd, before the referee signalled for both sides to head back down the tunnel.

Little had happened in the game before it was brought to a stop but Jesse Marsch will be keen to see his side react positively to the stoppage as they look to bring an end to their five-game winless streak.
