Pep Guardiola felt the players he had on the pitch had the "feeling" to get a late goal for Manchester City against Brentford, which is why he made only one sub. The City boss brought on Julian Alvarez for Joao Cancelo after 87 minutes, although there was 10 minutes added on at the end of the game.
Guardiola revealed he had considered bringing Riyad Mahrez on as well, but felt his players out on the pitch had the sense to create a big chance.
It proved to be an ultimately frustrating afternoon for the Blues, however, with Ivan Toney scoring his second goal of the game after 98 minutes to land Brentford a dramatic 2-1 victory.

"I thought a lot, but the guys who were on the pitch had a feeling they had the sense of goal, Gundo is really good in the runners, Julian came on for that, Phil scored a goal. I thought maybe Riyad had the quality to do it, I was looking for some players when they defend so, so deep, the quality to score," said Guardiola.
Aymeric Laporte sustained a head injury early in the second half and a nasty cut needed length treatment. He is now set to have stitches on the wound but Guardiola doesn't expect the defender to have any issues linking up with the Spain squad for the World Cup.
"I don’t think so, he finished good and he continued because he feels OK," he said.
