'Why on earth?' - Man City fans react to Crystal Palace team news

Pep Guardiola has made two changes to his Manchester City team for the visit of Crystal Palace to the Etihad Stadium this afternoon. Nathan Ake - who is missing today through injury - and Ilkay Gundogan drop out of the side that drew 3-3 with Newcastle last weekend, with Ruben Dias and Riyad Mahrez replacing them.

Gundogan started City's opening three league games - scoring twice - so his omission comes as a surprise. Bernardo Silva moves back into midfield to allow Mahrez to take up his usual right-wing spot, but otherwise it's as you were in attack with Erling Haaland taking up a central role with Phil Foden flanking him to the left.

City will be hoping to overcome something of Palace hoodoo - Guardiola's side have won only three of their last six Premier League meetings with the London club.

Here's how some City fans on Twitter reacted to the team news:

@Willcoldridge: Gundogan should have started.

@SxrgioSZN: Reminds me of a fifa team when you have 2 super subs and a bronze bench
