Dundee United defender Kevin Holt sees no reason why his side cannot halt Celtic’s winning run in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Jim Goodwin’s side have made an impressive return to the top flight after winning the Scottish Championship last season and sit fifth in the table.
Their progress has been built on a solid defence and despite their 4-3 defeat at Motherwell last week, Holt says team spirit is high at Tannadice.
He said: “It will be a tough test for us, they’re unbeaten in the league and by far the best team in the country.
“But it’s a challenge we can definitely go into with confidence. We’ve defended well against other teams this season.
“Their winning run will come to an end at some point and there’s no reason why that can’t be on Sunday.”

Motherwell inflicted the Tangerines’ first defeat in six league matches, while Brendan Rodgers’ side are on a seven-game winning run in the Premiership and have dropped only two points this season.
“We had a disappointing result last weekend and uncharacteristically conceded four goals and we’ll be looking to get back to how we’ve been defending as a team brilliantly this season,” Holt said.
“We’ve built a lot on clean sheets this year and defending from the front, right through the team, and for the majority of the season we’ve done well in that department.
“In terms of league games for us, it’s up there with the toughest we will face.
“We go to Ibrox, Parkhead and Pittodrie and different teams pose different problems. It’s up to us to come up with a way to deal with Celtic’s threats.
“It’s not going to be easy, but it’s up to us to go and get something from the game.”
