'Why not dream big?' - Confident Idah delivers Celtic Champions League vow

Adam Idah has vowed Celtic won't settle for reaching the knockout play-off round of the Champions League.

The striker climbed off the bench to play a major role in the crucial winner over Young Boys as his saved shot rebounded off Loris Benito and into the empty net.

Now, Idah has insisted he is dreaming big in the Champions League as he backed Celtic to keep impressing in Europe this season.

"I think we can go far," he said on TNT Sports. "I think we have got a great squad. We have gone this far, why not dream big?

"We have been fantastic over the season, we want to go to the top and these are the stages you have to do it on.

"We'll go as far as we can.

"It's amazing. This feeling is indescribable. This is where we wanted to get to, we've been great all this season throughout this campaign. We have got here now and it's time to push on."

Idah's strike came after a frustrating evening as dominance didn't result in a comfortable result with three goals ruled out for offside and a penalty saved in the first half.

The Republic of Ireland internationalist couldn't believe what he was watching but was thrilled to make a telling impact even if his "lucky" finish was snatched from him by UEFA statisticians.

"It was quite frustrating," he said of the first-half. "To be fair to the boys, in the first half they played brilliantly. I think the boys were confident going into the half having them goals disallowed.

"Any time I come on the manager just says, 'Do your thing, be yourself'. These are the games I want to play in and have an impact in. Credit to the gaffer, he is unbelievable with me. He lets me be myself.

"What a pass from Reo [Hatate]. The ball he played through was fantastic, I got a bit lucky but we'll take it. I haven't scored in a while. I said to the boys, 'I don't care that is my goal! Hopefully, it gets me on a run."
