The reason why Nicolas Raskin didn't start in Rangers' loss to St Mirren this evening has been revealed.
Philippe Clement told Rangers' own TV channel pre-match that the midfielder wasn't in from the beginning of the game because he is one booking away from a suspension that would rule him out of action for the Old Firm derby against Celtic next week.
Rangers will take on their arch-Glasgow rivals at Ibrox a week today on January 2.
Raskin came on at half-time during today's game in Paisley.

However, he began the match on the bench at the SMiSA, with the aim from Clement clearly to reduce the risk of Raskin picking up another booking which would see him be unavailable for the big game.
Danilo scored an equaliser for the visitors in Paisley during the second half, after a Smyth penalty had the Buddies in front.
A late strike by Boyd-Munce saw Stephen Robinson's men claim all three points, though, as the midfielder struck in stoppage time, leaving Rangers 12 points behind league leaders Celtic.
