Newcastle United will pay tribute to their former manager Sir Bobby Robson during today’s match with Liverpool.
The Reds travel to St James’ Park today to face Newcastle in their next Premier League clash. Jurgen Klopp’s side will be looking to claim an important victory against one of their rivals for a top four finish.
Liverpool are nine points adrift of the Champions League places, with Newcastle currently occupying fourth place. The Reds also have a game in hand, meaning a victory would see the gap reduced to six points having played one game less.

Today, February 18th, marks what would have been Robson’s 90th birthday. The former Newcastle boss passed away at the age of 76 in July 2009.
Robson is regarded as one of English football’s greatest managers. As well as spending five years in charge of Newcastle, he also had spells at Barcelona, Porto, PSV Eindhoven and, most notably, England from 1982-1990.
Newcastle are paying tribute to their former manager today, with the club announcing details earlier this week. The Newcastle United Foundation will be honouring the 252 young people who have connected with the charity while receiving treatment at the Great North Children's Hospital (GNCH) over the past five years.
The foundation works in partnership with the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation - which was launched in 2008 by the man himself to help others facing cancer - and the Newcastle Hospitals Charity.
Mark Robson, Sir Bobby’s son, says the charity work done by the respected charities and foundations are fitting tributes to his father.
"I know Dad was always very touched by the support his Foundation receives from within football and he'd be so proud to know we're working in partnership with Newcastle United Foundation and helping children with cancer here in the North East,” he told Newcastle’s club website.
"As well as funding Gareth, Dad's Foundation also funds roles within the Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer Unit at the Great North Children's Hospital. That means we're not only able to support children on a day-to-day basis, we're also playing a part in finding better treatments and drugs to combat cancer.
"Dad was always so positive about the future for cancer research and I know he'd be thrilled by the progress we're making. He'd also tell us not to take our foot off the gas!"
