As the quarter-final clash between Portugal and Morocco began, the Al Thumama Stadium was still nearly half empty. There were a number of fans still stuck outside the stadium as the match got underway.
Throughout the tournament viewers and fans have noticed that some stadiums seem to have a number of empty seats for high-profile matches. Whilst attendances have regularly been announced as being close to reaching maximum capacity, the clash between Morocco and Portugal began with plenty of supporters still waiting to enter the stadium.
The final two quarter-final matches of the tournament will be played this evening as Morocco, Portugal, France and England hope to book their place in the final four. Cristiano Ronaldo has been dropped once against by Fernando Santos as he watches on from the substitutes bench, hoping his nation can reach the semi-final stage.

Morocco and Portugal supporters were left stranded outside the Al Thumama Stadium as the match kicked off as fans without tickets tried to enter the ground. ITV host Seema Jaswal explained: "Here we are live at the Al Thumama Stadium.
"I’ve just heard reports from Angus Scott outside the stadium, he informed us that there are hundreds of ticketless fans trying to get into the stadium now which means people with tickets are struggling to get in. If you see empty seats it’s because of that, we would expect a full stadium by now."
Fans are continuing to slowly trickle into the stadium and find their seats with the game currently level at 0-0 after 15 minutes. This is the first notable incident in which fans without tickets have attempted to enter a stadium at the tournament and stadium staff are continuing to try and help those with tickets enter the ground swiftly.
