The Manchester Christmas Markets have graced the city centre streets for another year, bringing festivity and warmth as the weather turns chillier.
Whether you fancy a taste of Germany with some Gluhwein and sausages, or if you'd rather indulge your sweet tooth in festive desserts, there are plenty of dishes to try at the markets this year. Some 220 stalls are lining the streets, with seasonal food, drinks and gifts on offer.
The main hub of activity this year is yet again Piccadilly Gardens, which has been transformed into Winter Gardens. St Ann's Square, Exchange Street, Market Street, King Street, New Cathedral Street and Exchange Square will are also home to the Christmas Markets.

Meanwhile Cathedral Gardens is not only hosting stalls, but also welcomes the undercover ice rink Skate MCR. Most of the markets will run for six weeks.
But you may have noticed that one popular location is missing this year - Albert Square. For years it has been the traditional hub of the German Christmas Markets.
However this year works are continuing to take place at Manchester Hall and on Albert Square, so stalls will not be able to return there.
Construction work across the city - including at the Town Hall and Albert Square - have been blamed for the cancellation of this year's Christmas Lights switch-on show, as council bosses say there is 'no suitable location'. However there is hope for next year.
The council says talks are already underway to bring back the Christmas Lights switch-on for 2023 and vow that it will officially return for the "biggest and best ever" festive lights event on Albert Square in 2024.
