Manchester City v Leeds United will be shown live on UK TV despite being a Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
The usual TV blackout for traditional Saturday fixtures has been lifted due to King Charles III's Coronation, which is taking place in London.
The match had originally been chosen as one of Sky's televised Super Sunday fixtures, but Manchester City's Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid next week meant an earlier slot had to be found.
A Saturday lunchtime slot would normally have been the likely option, but it would have clashed with the Coronation ceremony, which is scheduled around Noon. The 5:30pm slot wasn’t an option either as Liverpool are playing Brentford.
The normal TV blackout rule, which relates to Uefea's Article 48, sets aside a period where no game can be broadcast live on television. This means no games are allowed to air between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on a Saturday, as a way of encouraging fans to attend matches and not stay at home.
A Premier League statement read: “With Manchester City visiting Real Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday 9 May, their home match with Leeds United has moved from Sunday 7 May to 15:00 BST on Saturday 6 May.
“The match will remain live on Sky Sports in the UK, subject to further consultation with relevant stakeholders regarding Article 48.
“The usual Saturday 12:30 BST UK live broadcast slot has been avoided so as not to clash with the King’s Coronation.
“A later kick-off is not possible due to police resourcing.”
The game will be shown live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event.
